Our Story

Sportual was created by a sports fanatic, for sports fanatics.

I've always faced various problems with sports organization and felt there was an opportunity to utilize technology to better connect athletes and organize the sports I always loved playing, whether competitive leagues or random pickup games back in Egypt.

What began as a conceptual university project slowly became a reality years later amidst the pandemic. I completed my Computer Science degree at Arizona State University and slowly utilized the skills I learned to begin working on the project as a hobby during weekends, without much of a plan. Over time, feature by feature, the project grew into something I felt I had to release to the world -- so in 2024 I decided to productionalize it!

Our Team

Currently, we, or should I say I, am a team of one sports-addicted software developer working with the rest of the sports community, fully bootstrapped, without any venture capital.
